If you are into heavy music, then The Power of Three is one album that you simply cannot pass over. I know that it is early in 2014, but it is a good bet that this one will still be one of the top albums at the end of the year.

Three years in the making, Rain, is a superb album which has music which effortlessly flows throughout the 63 minutes, with swathes of keyboards, stunning lead guitar work, majestic piano passages, catchy acoustic guitar work and that crystal clear powerful voice.

The debut album by Cliffhanger, Cold Steel, is worth the purchase price for the original 7 track album from 1995, but in this instance, you also get another 80+ minutes of material that is worth having, with no poor quality sound or “early demo” written across the tracks.

It’s the holiday season again, and it’s the time of year for Christmas albums. With most Christmas albums, if you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all. Most artists who put out Christmas albums sing covers of the classics. The only problem is they always sing these songs the same way they were sung decades ago. You rarely find Christmas songs sung in any type of rock style, but this year rock fans you’re in luck.

I have been to countless shows since the 70s and have never witnessed such an eclectic brand of family entertainment on stage. I would highly recommend catching their Christmas or any show for that matter that either of these fine people perform in.

Although perhaps a rather somber concept, this album is a resounding success for The Flower Kings, showcasing all the trademark styles that only The Flower Kings possess and gets both the “One to Buy” and “The Experience will last Forever” stickers on the cover. An album that may need a few listens to fully appreciate, but then the point is reached where the mind simply says “Wow!”

Professor Molotov and the Cocktails of Tone have done a wonderful job on this EP. In such a small amount of time, they are able to showcase their talent and versatility in sound and mood.

Miami Pop Festival is a pretty awesome recording. While there are already a good amount of live recordings and videos of Hendrix already, I rarely get tired of them. Hendrix, Noel Redding (bass), and Mitch Mitchell (drums), had great chemistry, and every song is different no matter how many times they’ve played it.
